Install Keyriff
You don’t have to. Keyriff runs in any recent browser, with nothing to download. Installed, it gets an icon and a window of its own, and on a phone it gets the room the address bar was taking.
Your browser’s steps are open below.
Start on app.keyriff.com, not on this page. Installing from here would give you an icon for this website instead of the app.
On a computer
Chrome on Windows, Mac, Linux or a Chromebook Your browser
- Open app.keyriff.com in Chrome.
- Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar. If it isn’t there, open the ⋮ menu, then Cast, save, and share, then Install.
- In the box that opens, click Install. Keyriff opens in a window of its own, and you’ll find it with your other apps.
Edge on Windows, Mac or Linux Your browser
- Open app.keyriff.com in Edge.
- Click the install icon in the address bar. If it isn’t there, open the … menu, then Apps, then Install. Some versions put Apps under More tools.
- In the box that opens, click Install. On Windows, Edge may then offer to pin it to the taskbar.
Safari on a Mac Your browser
- Open app.keyriff.com in Safari. This needs macOS Sonoma (version 14) or later.
- In the menu bar, choose File, then Add to Dock. It’s also under the Share button in Safari’s toolbar.
- Click Add. Keyriff goes in your Dock and in the Applications folder in your home folder.
It doesn’t share Safari’s storage, so your sheets don’t come with it. Here’s how to bring them over.
Firefox on Windows Your browser
- Open app.keyriff.com in Firefox.
- Click Add tab to taskbar in the address bar.
- Firefox opens Keyriff in a window of its own and offers to pin it to the taskbar.
If you don’t see the button, update Firefox. It’s on by default in current versions.
Firefox on a Mac or Linux Your browser
Firefox can’t install sites as apps on a Mac, and on Linux it’s an experiment that’s off by default. Keyriff works the same in a normal Firefox tab, MIDI keyboards included. To install it, use Chrome or Edge, or Safari on a Mac.
On iPhone or iPad
Whichever browser you add it from, the installed app keeps its own storage, so your sheets don’t come with it. Here’s how to bring them over.
Safari Your browser
- Open app.keyriff.com in Safari.
- Tap ••• beside the address bar, then Share. If your toolbar has a Share button, tap that instead.
- Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. If it isn’t in the list, tap Edit Actions at the bottom and add it there.
- Make sure Open as Web App is on, then tap Add. Older versions of iOS don’t show the switch, and don’t need it.
Chrome, Edge or Firefox Your browser
- Open app.keyriff.com in the browser. This needs iOS or iPadOS 16.4 or later.
- Tap Share. Chrome and Firefox have it in the address bar, and Edge has it in its ☰ menu.
- Tap Add to Home Screen. If there’s an Open as Web App switch, leave it on. Then tap Add.
On Android
Chrome Your browser
- Open app.keyriff.com in Chrome.
- Tap ⋮ at the right of the address bar, then Install and create shortcut. Older versions call it Install app or Add to Home screen.
- In the box that opens, tap Install. Keyriff appears on your home screen and in your list of apps.
Samsung Browser Your browser
- Open app.keyriff.com in Samsung Browser, which older phones call Samsung Internet.
- Tap the install icon in the address bar if there is one. Otherwise open the ☰ menu, then Add page to, then Home screen.
- Tap Install or Add to confirm.
Firefox Your browser
- Open app.keyriff.com in Firefox.
- Tap ⋮, then Install. Some versions call it Add app to Home screen or Add to Home screen.
- Tap Add automatically, or drag the icon onto your home screen yourself.
Anywhere else
Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Edge on Android and the rest Your browser
Most browsers are built on Chrome’s engine and install apps the way Chrome does, under their own menu names. Open app.keyriff.com, then look in the browser’s menu for Install or Add to Home screen.
Your saved sheets
Whether they’re already in the installed app depends on the browser.
- Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Samsung Browser, on a computer or Android, share their storage with the app. Your sheets are already there, and clearing the browser’s data for Keyriff clears them from the app too.
- Safari on a Mac, and every browser on iPhone and iPad, give the app storage of its own. It starts empty, and after that, changes in one don’t show up in the other.
To bring your sheets over, open Keyriff in the browser and choose Back up everything from the Export menu, or the Edit sheet menu on a phone. Then, in the installed app, choose Import data from the same menu and pick the backup file. It asks first, then replaces everything already in the app.
Removing it
If you installed it from Safari on a Mac, or on an iPhone or iPad, back up first. Sheets you saved in the app aren’t in the browser, and removing the app can delete them.
- Chrome or Edge on a computer. Open the menu at the top right of Keyriff’s window and choose Uninstall. In Edge it may be under App settings. If it offers to delete data too, leave that unticked unless you want your sheets gone from the browser as well.
- Safari on a Mac. Delete Keyriff from the Applications folder in your home folder.
- Firefox on Windows. Click Remove tab from taskbar in Keyriff’s window.
- iPhone, iPad and Android. Touch and hold the icon and remove it, like any other app.
Checked against Apple’s, Google’s, Microsoft’s and Mozilla’s own help pages on 9 October 2026. Browsers rename their menus from time to time, so if a step doesn’t match, look for Install or Add to Home screen in the browser’s menu.
